We raised over $100k during Light in the Fog 2022!

This past weekend I had the privilege of being one of the hosts for the fundraising event, “Light in the Fog”, a four day Dead by Daylight tournament started in 2021 to help support Max, also known by his online handle Puppers in his fight against ALS.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a rare neurological disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, specifically those that control voluntary muscle movements. Such movements include; chewing, walking, breathing, & talking. The progressive deterioration of these nerve cells causes muscle weakness, paralysis, and ultimately, respiratory failure.  Though there are drugs that can slow its progression, the average life expectancy after an ALS diagnosis is 2-5 years. ALS is always fatal.

Over 150 content creators from the Dead by Daylight community came together for this special event to raise funds to help Max pay for his medications, medical equipment, sleep aids, wheelchairs, ramps for the home, remodeling to make his home more handicapped accessible, and so much more. The event was a huge success and a wonderful reminder of the strength of the gaming community for good.

With prize giveaways, creator submitted auctions, and fun challenges for both survivors and killers earned by chat donations, the Dead by Daylight community helped raise over $100,000 to support Puppers.

If you missed the event and you’d like to contribute, you can check out the Light in the Fog website below for exclusive, limited-time only event merch! And don’t forget to show Max some love on Twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/puppers
